On his death certificate alexander Potier is also listed as his father. He married Josephine in his mid 50s, he died a few years later at the age of abou 56 in October 1923

  Joseph Potier Sr. listed Alexaner Potier as his father on the Marriage certificate to his 4th wife. There were two Alexander Potier (Mulatto) born in the 1850, The black Alex Potier was married to Celestine Berard, they had 8 children. I have a copy of the court documents which his children testifies Alex abd Celestin had only 8 children Joseph Potier Sr was not one of the 8 as listed on their records they are also listd on this site. The White Louis Alexandre Potier was married to Clarisse Barra and there was one white Charles alexander Potier. Joseph is listed living with his brother Gustave in 1900 Census.
